About the Test

Your physician has ordered a home sleep study. This test is completed in the comfort of your own home. Similar to an overnight polysomnogram (PSG) done in our lab, a home sleep study can detect problems related to breathing while you are asleep to evaluate for sleep apnea.

What to Expect

You will be scheduled to meet with one of the daytime sleep technicians Monday-Friday at our sleep center. You cannot pick-up or drop off this equipment at any other Neurology Center office. The sleep technician will demonstrate how to use this equipment and show you an instructional video. This device is only equipped to record 1 night of data and MUST be returned the next business day unless otherwise approved by the sleep center staff. If you have any problems after hours please contact us at (301) 654-1500 and one of our sleep technicians can assist you (every night except Saturday).

NOTE: If this equipment is not returned the next business day, a $50/per day fee will be assessed to your patient balance.

After the Study

Once the device is returned, a technician processes the raw data for review by one of our sleep specialists. The final results and formal interpretation are usually available within 5 business days.

Parking

Parking is available in the garage adjacent to our building.
