Overview: 

The Neurology Center offers very comprehensive testing services. The doctor along with a trained technician administers each test.

Description: 

Current list of tests offered are:
 

  • Electromyography & Nerve Conduction Study (EMG & NCT)
  • Electroencephalogram (EEG)
  • Videonystagmogram (VNG)
  • The Computerized Visual Field Test (CVF)
  • Evoked Response Examinations
  • Visual Evoked Response (VER)
  • Auditory Evoked Response (BAER)
  • Somatosensory Evoked Response (SER)
  • Lumbar Puncture (LP)
  • Carotid Doppler Study

Compensation will be based on the level of education, training and experience. Four year college degree in science/heath or related feild is required for all positions.  Our internal levels are:

Neurophysiology Technician Trainee (EMG/EP)
Performs nerve conduction and evoked potential testing and assists physicians in needle electromyographic testing.
 

  • Experience or study in neurophysiology (or related field) is preferred
  • Experience in an outpatient clinical setting is preferred

Neurophysiology Technician I (EEG)
Performs electroencephalographic testing.

Along with the qualifications outlined for a Neurophysiology Tech Trainee above, the following is also required:

  • Nine months' experience in EEG testing is necessary.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of basic principles of EEG testing are necessary

Neurophysiology Technician I (EMG)
Performs nerve conduction and evoked potential testing and assists physicians in needle electromyographic testing.

Along with the qualifications outlined above, the following is also required:

  • Nine months' experience in EMG testing and evoked potential testing is necessary.
  • Sound understanding of the fundamentals of EMG and evoked potential testing is necessary

Neurophysiology Technician II
Provides primary and backup neurophysiology technician coverage to various Neurology Center locations.
Along with the qualifications outlined above, the following is also required:

  • Proficiency in EMG, EEG and evoked potential testing is necessary

Neurophysiology Technician III
Provides primary and backup neurophysiology technician coverage to various Neurology Center locations.

Along with the qualifications outlined above, the following is also required:

  • Proficiency in EMG, EEG and evoked potential testing is necessary
  • Certification by the American EEG Society or American Association of Electro-diagnostic and Electromyography is necessary
